Go fuck yourself, Andrew Gillum

There, I finally said it.

Anyways, Andrew Gillum is probably gonna lose.

We were all excited when he won the primary. He ran a true progressive platform, supporting Medicare for All, tuition-free college, and legalized marijuana. Bernie endorsed him.

Of course, we had reasonable reservations and criticisms of him. In 2016, he endorsed Hillary over Bernie, and throughout his campaign, he has taken money from Tom Steyer and George Soros.

The preferable thing to do was to endorse Bernie. (And when Gillum ran on Bernie's platform, Bernie let bygones be bygones and endorsed him, which says a lot about Bernie's character.) The acceptable thing to do, if you wanted to advance your career without losing much credibility, was to not endorse anyone in the primary. But instead, he endorsed Hillary. That's concerning.

Also, taking money from Steyer is one thing, but you cannot win over a progressive base on Soros money. Every single dollar bill that George Soros has ever touched is cursed.

Nonetheless, he did win. That's when the changes started happening.

He tweeted, "Affordable healthcare should be a right, not a privilege."

What's so problematic about that? One word: affordable. "Affordable healthcare" is not the same thing as a universal, single-payer healthcare system.

It gets worse from there.

The Hill reported that Hillary will campaign with him.

I don't know if you realize this, Andrew, but Hillary lost Florida to Trump by 112,911 votes. Right off the bat, you're losing any potential crossover voters, and at the same time you're losing your base. There are people who voted for you in the primary - actual progressives - who are saying they won't vote for you in the general election.

And then perhaps the most damning is when he supported Trump's sanctions on Venezuela.

"Dictators, and those who associate with them, must be held accountable for their intolerable and brutal actions," he tweeted. "These sanctions are a positive step forward, but more must be done."

He is running for governor of Florida, which has absolutely nothing to do with foreign policy, but he went out of his way to spew out standard Establishment hawkish talking points.

It's fine to call out the Maduro regime, but if you're gonna do it, at least call out the 73% of dictatorships that we support. At least call out Cameroon. At least call out Saudi Arabia.

Furthermore, what does he mean by "more must be done"? We're imposing crippling sanctions on them. What's "more"?

War. He wants war with Venezuela.

Andrew, right now, you're leading by 9 points, and you had to fuck it up. That 9 will decrease, and when November 6 comes, you're gonna lose to a far right authoritarian.

Why? Because you sold out.

I said it once and I'll say it again.

Go fuck yourself, Andrew Gillum.

I'm now supporting Bruce Stanley, and you can too here.
