Ro Khanna introduces resolution to pull out of Yemen

Image
By THOMAS REICH | OCT 10, 2018

As you may have heard, Ro Khanna has introduced HConRes138, a resolution aimed at ending US involvement in Yemen. (But if you haven't heard, don't worry, because I barely found out about this, which should tell you just how pathetic mainstream media is.)

He introduced a similar resolution last year that was supposedly "agreed to." Bernie also introduced a similar resolution that was shot down 55-44.

But our involvement in Yemen has gained so much more coverage and disapproval since then that even CNN has called it out.

"This time around, our coalition to end the war has expanded and the call for withdrawing US involvement is louder," said Khanna.

So far, the resolution has 41 cosponsors (including 2 Republicans!).

No one knows for sure when the vote will take place. (One girl said that it might even take place tomorrow.)

As usual, Khanna is bringing pride back to the word "Democrat."

Fox does pathetic anti-living wage hack job

Image
By THOMAS REICH | OCT 03, 2018

As we all know, Amazon is raising its minimum wage to $15 an hour, and on top of that, they'll lobby for a higher minimum wage. I don't need to tell you how great this is.

But who could be opposed to this?

Who could possibly be opposed to something that 200 accredited economists and most Americans support?

Who would have the arrogance and the disregard for the will of the people to oppose this?

Oh right, Fox.

Fox's Elaine Parker wrote an abortion of an article, in which she totally owns the libs by citing a study over Seattle's gradual minimum wage increase to $15 an hour, and talking about how "devastating" it was. (I'm not even kidding - she actually called it "devastating.")

Unfortunately for her, however, I actually bothered to click the link. Turns out the results were by no stretch of the imagination "devastating."

Now, the study did find an ever-so-slight reduction in employment, not significant enough to …

Bezos loses the fight for $15

Image
By THOMAS REICH | OCT 02, 2018

We've won!

Amazon has announced that starting November 1, it will pay its employees a minimum wage of $15 an hour!

Bonus: it will also lobby Congress to raise the minimum wage.

“Today, I want to give credit where credit is due. And I want to congratulate Mr. Bezos for doing exactly the right thing," said Bernie, who led the fight on behalf of the grossly underpaid Amazon workers.

Some, however, are disregarding Amazon's decision, including Wired, which is claiming that Amazon only did so to attract potential employees for the holiday season and to get everyone off of its ass.

I honestly don't care why Amazon did it; I'm just glad they did.

Though this is a momentous occasion, there is a downside. Amazon is raising the price for some of its products and loyalty programs.

It's worth noting that Jeff Bezos is not only the richest man in the world, but the richest by a mile and a half ($63 billion, to be exact), so he could raise his workers…

Deep State killing Assange and WikiLeaks

Image
By THOMAS REICH | SEP 30, 2018

Julian Assange is not doing so well.

After six months of being held incommunicado, he has stepped down from his role as editor-in-chief of WikiLeaks and appointed Kristinn Hrafnsson to replace him.

It gets much worse.

Having spent 2,293 days cooped up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London (as of today), his physical and mental health is rapidly deteriorating.

"We are very concerned about his health; he has been locked up in the embassy for more than six years, without proper access to medical care," attorney Jennifer Robinson told Nacio Digital.

"The Embassy is not equipped for prolonged detention to provide a reasonable environment...the prolonged uncertainty of indefinite detention deeply affects the psychological and physical trauma above and beyond the expected stressors of incarceration," she continued.

Ladies and gentlemen, Julian Assange is dying. He's been rotting in the embassy without sufficient healthcare for more than six years…

Go fuck yourself, Andrew Gillum

Image
By THOMAS REICH | SEP 30, 2018

There, I finally said it.

Anyways, Andrew Gillum is probably gonna lose.

We were all excited when he won the primary. He ran a true progressive platform, supporting Medicare for All, tuition-free college, and legalized marijuana. Bernie endorsed him.

Of course, we had reasonable reservations and criticisms of him. In 2016, he endorsed Hillary over Bernie, and throughout his campaign, he has taken money from Tom Steyer and George Soros.

The preferable thing to do was to endorse Bernie. (And when Gillum ran on Bernie's platform, Bernie let bygones be bygones and endorsed him, which says a lot about Bernie's character.) The acceptable thing to do, if you wanted to advance your career without losing much credibility, was to not endorse anyone in the primary. But instead, he endorsed Hillary. That's concerning.

Also, taking money from Steyer is one thing, but you cannot win over a progressive base on Soros money. Every single dollar bill that George Sor…

Nicki Minaj wrestles intelligence, loses

Image
By THOMAS REICH | SEP 12, 2018

Nicki Minaj is a fucking idiot.

We all remember all the stupid stuff she's said in the past, but this has to top it all off.

"!!!!!!New Yorkers & all NYCHA residents its time to get JUSTICE, VOTE Thur. Sept. 13 for Gov. Cuomo, Lt. Gov. Hochul & Tish James.  They know how to work for the people to make NY even GREATER.  Spread the word.  See you at the Polls!!!!!!" Minaj tweeted.

She actually fully endorsed the uber-corrupt Andrew Cuomo.

There are so many things that I love about this.

First, I love how terribly incoherent she is.

Secondly, I love how excited she is over Andrew Cuomo. Andrew Cuomo. She's getting excited over the human embodiment of stale bread. ("I'll have you know that he's a Muslim, Jewish, black, gay, disabled woman seeking to control her own body!")

Lastly, I love how she's saying this as if Cuomo isn't already governor and he's gonna bring great changes once he's elected.

Hey, Nicki.…
